Training and Education
Debbie trained as an actor at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where she won both the Patricia Lawrence Scholarship and a Laurence Olivier Bursary (SWET).
Debbie has worked extensively in theatre, film, television and radio. Theatre credits include seasons at the National Theatre and work with the RSC, and most recently a stint in the West End and on tour as one of the Calendar Girls. Her film work includes Mike Leigh’s Topsy Turvy and her most well known TV roles have been in programmes such as Tittybangbang, The Smoking Room, Psychoville, Doctor Who, Nicholas Nickleby and a psychotic kidnapper in Doctors!
As the daughter of a modern foreign languages teacher who helped train, many years ago, FocalVocal’s MD to become a teacher, Debbie learnt through osmosis the art of imparting knowledge in a fun but also pedagogically sound manner. Her empathetic and vibrant approach to training makes her a popular addition to the FocaVocal family and clients alike.
