Andrew Byron


Training and Education

Andrew grew up in a bilingual French/English family which has given him a lasting fascination with languages. Andrew has an MA in Russian (St. Andrews) as well as a basic knowledge of German, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. He trained to become an actor and director with Sam Kogan – a graduate of GITIS and creator of The Science of Acting method.


Andrew has appeared on TV in Waking the Dead (BBC), Silent Witness (BBC) and Law and Order UK (ITV) He played the lead role as Frank Wilson in The True Story of the Untouchables (Channel 5) and Movsar Baraev in Situation Critical: Moscow Theatre Siege (National Geographic International).

Andrew's film credits include: 28 Weeks Later; The Adventures of George the Projectionist; Experiment; and Bigga than Ben in which he starred with Ben Barnes.

Theatre credits include: Night of the Iguana (Lyric, West End); Golden Boy (West Yorkshire Playhouse); An Evening with Gary Lineker (National Tour); Brighton Beach Memoirs (Edinburgh Festival); and Life's a Monkey (Cochrane Theatre). Most recently he played one of the lead roles in the critically acclaimed production of Anastasia at Pushkin House in Bloomsbury.

As a role-player for drama based training programmes, Andrew has worked with companies as diverse as McKinsey, CEMEX, BAE Systems and the NHS. With his languages niche and facility in Mandarin, Andrew is the main male actor for FocalVocal’s Acclimatising to China course with our Hong Kong based training partner Focus Honour.
